little buttons and a rhino
Inez just came up to me shaking a small container. I asked her what was in it and she replied, "Just some little buttons and a rhino." For some reason, I thought she was pretending, but when I opened up the container, I discovered—sure enough—little buttons and a rhino.
We spent a few minutes spelling our names in buttons, making "button cakes"—which are very similar to birthdays cakes, I'm told—and then singing Happy Birthday to each other (and to the rhino).
Saturday afternoons are so fun when you are a three-year old, or a three-year old's daddy.

that is so cute. i think especially because i love buttons. :) i just have containers of them too, nezzie. thanks for the idea of button cakes-- that's a good one!
The pic of Nezzie totally looks like Holly. Like mother like daughter right?
she's only 3 and she can spell her name, i'm impressed or jsut confesed to being a bad mom.
not that holly wouldn't do something totally cute too, but you can tell that nezzie's artist daddy helped with the name and design! you are too good---with your 'eye' and time spent with your little girl!
oh courtney, bless you for thinking that i'm such a good mom and that my daughter can spell her name–and in buttons at that! she knows the letters but cannot write them. we're working on that.
